Pancytopenia is a condition where the cat is low for all types of blood cells – red, white & platelets. It has a number of causes in cats, but is normally very rare. However in 2021 there have been greatly increased numbers of cats with this condition.
Below are links to the RVC’s page giving updates on their investigation, to a Facebook group, to the Fold Hill page which details the specific foods, and to a search for Pancytopenia on the Food Standards Agency’s website. The FSA don’t update a single page or (as far as I can tell) have an index to all relevant pages hence the search.
The RVC has been investigating, and it seems all cases have been feed dry food produced by Fold Hill Foods.
